Jessica's journey begins in the vibrant landscapes of the Dominican Republic, where she was born and nurtured during her formative years. Embracing a passion for the arts, she embarked on a transformative chapter in Italy, immersing herself in the realms of theatre and cinema in Turin.
Her quest for knowledge led her to the bustling streets of London in 2011, where she honed her skills and attained professional certification as a Pattern Maker at the esteemed Kensington and Chelsea College in 2013. With a versatile background that traverses the realms of fashion, costume theatre, and performing arts, Jessica's creative spirit knows no bounds.
Throughout her career, she has seamlessly blended her Caribbean heritage with the rich tapestry of Mediterranean cultural influences, infusing her work with depth and authenticity.
With a multidisciplinary background spanning Fashion, Costume design and the performing arts, Jessica has established herself as a distinctive creative voice within the industry.
Her work has been featured on renowned UK stages including the Barbican Theatre, Royal Stratford East, Linbury Theatre and Sadler’s Wells, and she has collaborated with acclaimed artists such as Sophie Laplane, Cassa Pancho, Joseph Toonga, Matthew Xia, and Mthuthuzeli November.
Jessica's artistry goes far beyond traditional stagecraft. The multi-award-winning designer received the "Black British Theatre Award" for Costume Design Recognition for her remarkable work on "SAY IT LOUD," a production by Cassa Pancho MBE, the founder and director of Ballet Black, celebrating the company's 20th anniversary. More recently, at the 2024 Black British Theatre Awards, she was honoured with the Theatre Design Award.
Her portfolio also includes "RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE" immersive show , which reimagined the historic Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman boxing match, and Ballet Black’s adaptation of Oyinkan Braithwaite’s acclaimed novel "MY SISTER, THE SERIAL KILLER".
Jessica's recent design collaborations include the critically acclaimed musical "THE HARDER THEY COME" at Royal Stratford East, directed by Matthew Xia, and "BLACK POWER DESK"at Brixton House, in collaboration with PlayWell Productions and written by Urielle Klein-Mekongo.
Currently, Jessica channels her boundless creativity as a full-time freelancer, lending her talents to the realms of fashion , dance, theatre, and television, enriched by the inspirations drawn from her passion for analogue photography and street style.
